Restyle : Cotton Dress

In my last pregnancy post I mentioned how important was to have a cotton dress as a staple, mainly because it gives you a lot of room to grow. However, the second reason is because it's a piece you can mix and match to make it into multiple outfits. And you don't have to be pregnant to also take advantage of that.

So today I will be showing you how to take this simple dress and wear it into different outfits. You can also use a maxi dress to achieve the same looks.
Let's get started!

Look #1
The first way you can transform this dress is to dress it up. Adding something so simple as a blazer and a simple necklace can really help you go to a formal event and it works perfectly for going to work. I would pair this outfit with a nice pair of heels, however, since I am pregnant I paired it with a nice pair of booties that match the blazer.

Look #2
This has to be one of my favorite and most used looks. Something that can change the look of a cotton dress is as simple as just adding a T shirt. You can have endless possibilities for different tees and accessories that you can play around with. I paired mine with a graphic tee from Cotton On, a statement necklace from H&M, a pair of thrifted cowboy boots, and a leather clutch from Free People.

Look #3
This look is perfect for a night out with friends, like a bon fire or just an outside restaurant. I love this sweater because of the boho feel it gives the dress. You can also use a long Kimono to achieve this look.

Look #4
A really cute way to still use your crop tops when pregnant or when you don't really wanna show your mid-section but you still wanna wear that cute crop top you saw at the store is to wear it on top of a dress. When you have a belly, the looser the top the better it makes you body look. Make sure you add some cute accessories and shoes to complete the outfit. I love using my gladiator sandals to give it an edgier look.

Look #5
This last look is also the simplest and perfect for summer. Just add a statement belt to dress it up a little and give it an interesting look. Or when pregnant add it to the top of your belly to really show off and define that cute bump :)

I hope you were able to take some ideas and restyle those dresses you haven't worn in a while. If you use any of the tips from this post make sure to tag me on Instagram @itsjuliwilliams . I'd love to see your outfits ;)
