Lip Scrub DIY

The weather is getting colder and drier every day making it easy for lips to dry, chap and crack. Not such a great look, especially when wearing a cute lipstick. So today I partnered with Pam Chades from Tres Chicas Blog to bring you this awesome Lip Scrub DIY.

You will need:
Sugar
Coconut Oil
Scent Extract of your choice

You can find all of these ingredients at your local grocery store.

In a small bowl mix about 6 to 8 teaspoons of sugar for 1 teaspoon of Coconut oil and mix until you have a solid consistency.
Add about 4 drops of scented extract and mix again. We thought pepper mint goes really well with white sugar and I have to admit it's hard not to want to eat it ;)

This is what it should look like once it's mixed. You can add more sugar or oil depending on your preference.
To apply take about a finger tip of sub and massage your lips in a circular motion.
Then take a moist tissue and clean off the scrub. The reason why you don't want to rinse off with water is because wiping with the tissue takes away all of those pieces of dead skin and leaves your lips soft and kissable :D

We then placed the scrub in a little plastic containers. You can find these at your local grocery store in the travel kit section. They come in a little kit with shampoo container and others. Pam also found some at Party City.

We also wanted to try the lip scrub with brown sugar and we found that for brown sugar you will need about two teaspoons less of sugar and for whatever reason it moisturizes a lot more than the white sugar. We also used a strawberry extract because mint didn't seem to go too well with brown sugar, and it came out deliciously amazing. You can also replace coconut oil with olive oil if that's what you have at home. We recommend coconut oil because of taste :)

Happy Scrubbing!
