DIY Yarn Banner

I'd been wanting to decorate the walls in my office to something "homey" and that somehow felt cozy. And after going to Urban Outfitters I saw these threaded wall banners and I thought, there has to be an easier way to make these. So I bought some yarn and tried something for myself.

Supplies:
- Different color yarn
- One wooden rod or stick
- Scissors
- Wood Beads* & a Crochet Needle (Optional)

*I bought a pack of wooden beads from Joann's.



Take long strands of yarn, loop around the stick and tie in a knot. Repeat and until the whole stick has been covered. Even though I've only used two colors, you can mix and match colors depending on how colorful or simple you want to go.



After it's been knotted, take your scissors and trim the ends in the desired shape.



To add some texture to my wall banner I threaded these beads through the yarn using a crochet needle.



And that was all! It's a really beautiful and simple piece to make.
